Tanya Johnson

Tanya's journey began in inner-city Detroit, Michigan, where she was raised by her teenage, single mother. With unwavering determination, her mother worked long hours to ensure Tanya could attend a college preparatory high school paving the way for her to become the first in her family to attend and graduate from college. Tanya's deep compassion for the marginalized is rooted in her own lived experience of hardship, resilience, and the pursuit of a better future.

Over the years, Tanya has served as a teacher, mentor, author, speaker, and leadership coach, always leading with love, humility, and a heart to uplift others. Global Tendo La Upendo is not just an organization; it is a reflection of Tanya's values and the transformative principles that have shaped her life. Every Act of Love shared through Global TLU reflects the same spirit of compassion, service, and hope that guides her personally.

As a dedicated educator, Tanya has inspired countless students across the United States and Uganda by sharing her story and demonstrating the power of education to break generational cycles. She speaks passionately about how education changed her life and how it can do the same for others.

Since 2007, Tanya has also been a certified financial coach through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace program. She has guided hundreds of individuals and families toward greater financial stability by promoting responsible stewardship and practical money management principles.

In addition to leading Global Tendo La Upendo, Tanya is the founder of Clear Direction Coaching, where she equips individuals and organizations through speaking, leadership development, coaching, and professional growth. Whether serving through her nonprofit or her coaching practice, Tanya's mission remains the same to help people discover their potential, embrace new possibilities, and move forward with greater hope, purpose, and confidence.
