Eight years ago, a young boy in Uganda was given more than an education.

He was given someone who believed in him.

His name is Mark.

Today, his story reminds us why we continue saying yes to students who simply need someone to believe in them.

When Mark entered Primary 7, he had dreams, determination, and a desire to learn. Like many students, however, those dreams depended on whether someone would invest in his education.

Someone did.

For more than eight years, Global Tendo La Upendo faithfully walked beside Mark providing educational support, encouragement, prayer, and the confidence that comes from knowing he was loved and believed in.

Mark honored that opportunity.

He studied with discipline.

He remained focused.

He pursued excellence.

And excellence followed.

Not once.

But twice.

Mark earned perfect scores on both his Secondary 4 and Secondary 6 national examinations—an extraordinary accomplishment achieved by very few students.

Those remarkable achievements opened the door to a full scholarship at Makerere University, where he will begin studying Electrical Engineering this August.

Yet perhaps the most inspiring part of Mark's story isn't found in a scholarship letter.

It's found in what he chose to do before university even began.

For the past five months, Mark has been teaching mathematics and science at the very school where he once sat as a student.

The student had become the teacher... and the cycle of hope had begun again.

When Mark learned he had received his university scholarship, he sent a voice message that deeply touched our hearts.

"I am very, very grateful that I am supported. I do not take that for granted. You have no idea how much this means to me."

Then he shared something that may be even more meaningful.

One day, he wants to do for another student what someone once did for him.

That is how hope multiplies.

One act of love inspires another.

One transformed life begins transforming others.

Mark's journey reminds us why we continue investing in education.

Not simply to help students attend school.

But to help them become leaders, mentors, and people who will one day lift someone else.
